The Canadian Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Professionals (CAIRP) has recently launched its new website.

CAIRP is the national professional organization to which G. Slocombe & Associates Inc. belongs. It represents more than 950 members acting as trustees in bankruptcy, administrators of consumer proposals, receivers, liquidators, agents, monitors and consultants in insolvency matters, as well as nearly 350 articling and 200 corporate and life associates.

CAIRP was created as a non-profit corporation in 1979 to advocate a fair, transparent, and effective system of insolvency/restructuring administration throughout Canada. Nearly all practicing trustees licensed under Canada’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act are members of CAIRP.

While the website is mostly utilized by its members, it has some very useful information in the “General Public” section on what insolvency professionals do and why speaking to a licensed professional is always a good first stop if you are experiencing financial difficulties.

The website gives some background on both consumer and corporate insolvency solutions and also allows you to search for a licensed professional in your city or area.
